The employer has appointed a new board member to the fund. Ahmet Gokcen, the former Chair of the investment committee, has retired and left the board. Carmen Floristan has been appointed as director and Chair of the investment committee with the approval of De Nederlandsche Bank (the Dutch Central Bank).
Carmen works for Finance as EMEAI Strategic Planning Director in Horgen, Switzerland. She is heavily involved on behalf of the employer in the European Sustainability Finance Action Plan, which is part of the Green Deal. The pension fund can benefit from her knowledge for its Environmental, Social, & Governance (ESG) policy.
Diversity
Carmen has previous pension experience as a director of the Dow Iberica Pension Plan (2008-2015) and as the president of the International Pension Plan (2020 to date). She is also a director of the pension fund in the UK. The combination of her general knowledge and her experience make Carmen the ideal candidate. Moreover, the appointment of Carmen also means that the board complies more fully with the requirements set by the supervisor with regard to diversity.
