Four seats recently became vacant on the Accountability Body. We were looking for three new members to represent pensioners and one to represent employees. As there were more candidates than seats for the pensioners an election was held. The employee representative was automatically elected. We would like to thank everyone who stood candidate. The new members will now introduce themselves to you.

Elly Warmenhoven, pensioners’ representative‘We have already gatheredt twice since the election in November 2022: once with the council alone and once with the board of the DOW Pension Fund Foundation. We are closely monitoring developments in the pension world. We are now waiting the new Pensions Act to be discussed and to be decided in the senate.. For DOW, the Works Council and DOW Management are the social partners to decide on a new pension scheme. As Accountability Body, our job is to make our voice heard and give advice. We aim to protect the interests of pension fund members as best as possible.’ |

Herbert Jonkman, pensioners’ representative‘There’s a lot to be done over the coming period. The new pension system is currently being reviewed by the upper house of parliament following the approval by the lower house in December 2022. DOW Management and the Works Council will then get to work on new pension regulations. I represent the interests of pensioners throughout this process, and I’ll do this as best as I can.’ |

Willem Vogt, pensioners’ representative‘On the Accountability Body, I serve as an adviser at DOW Pensioners’ Association meetings. I’ve settled into the role and can draw on six years of experience in this field. There are some important decisions and choices to be made in the years to come. It’s good that as a new team, we are putting all our efforts in together.’ |

Bart Makkink, employees’ representative‘The decisions made on pension provisions can have a huge influence on someones finances. The decisions made by the pension fund’s social partners for its members have a major impact on this. It’s good to see that the Accountability Body comprises responsible and competent people. We will be advising the board and overseeing how it deals with the changes as a result of the implementation of the new Pensions Act.’ |
